Water flow low in Joburg suburbs

JOHANNESBURG - Taps in parts of Johannesburg are running low.

From Westbury to Ivory Park to Bryanston, residents say outages have gone from an inconvenience to a crisis.

Protests have flared up and roads have been blocked as frustration boils over.

Ageing infrastructure, burst pipes, and years of poor planning as populations grow are the cause of the crisis.

The city admits it can’t keep up, and residents are left to make their own plans just to get water.

For more on the ripple effect of these outages, our reporter Manqoba Mchunu joins us with the latest.
