Western Cape parents shut down school in protest

CAPE TOWN - Western Cape Education is pleading with Witzenberg parents to call off their protest.

It's already disrupted the year-end exam, with three weeks of no teaching at Nduli Primary School in Ceres.

At the same time the governing body is demanding another isiXhosa school, and the immediate repair of the existing school.

They have taken their demands all the way to the provincial education offices.

Western Cape education department says it has committed for a structural engineer to go to the school to access it as well as look into other issues such as additional repairers and overcrowding.
