World Asthma Day | Around 1,000 asthma-related deaths per day

JOHANNESBURG - Today marks World Asthma Day, which raises awareness around the chronic respiratory condition.

It affects over a quarter of a billion people around the world, killing around 1,000 sufferers a day.

A recent South African study found the usually blue over-the-counter reliever pump is being overused.

It relieves the symptoms of asthma but does not control the condition.

Specialist Paediatrician and Allergist Thulja Trikamjee has more on this.
