MSF mulling legal action against UPL

DURBAN - Traces of a toxic, banned pesticide has been found in soil samples, north of Durban.

Consultants looking into the aftermath of the UPL chemical fire in July 2021 made the alarming discovery.

There are strict parameters regarding the import and export of this highly hazardous pesticide.

Questions are being raised as to just how it landed on our shores.

UPL has denied storing, importing or trading this banned substance.

Professor and Head of the Occupational and Environmental Health department at UKZ, Rajen Naidoo explains.
