Witness alleges Mapisa-Nqakula demanded R2m bribe

PRETORIA - Former Defence Minister Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula allegedly demanded a R2 million bribe in exchange for the promotion of a defence contractor’s husband.

State witness Nombasa Ntsondwa-Ndhlovu told the High Court in Pretoria that she refused to pay, insisting her husband was already due for promotion based on merit.

However, Ntsondwa-Ndlovu has confessed to paying the former minister R4.5 million in bribes, after securing multimillion-rand SANDF contracts.

eNCA’s Moloko Moloto has the story in the video above.
