WATCH | Karpowership gets license to operate in Richards Bay

JOHANNESBURG - The Department of Forestry, Fisheries, and Environment has granted the Karpowership a licence to operate in Richards Bay.

This brings the company a step closer in its attempts to boost the country’s power generation capacity.

In October Karpowership received environmental authorisation for its Richards Bay Environmental Impact Assessment.

The move hasn’t been fully welcomed though.

The Biodiversity Law Centre has filed an appeal challenging this.

For more on this story, let’s bring in the Centre’s Kate Handley.
