SA advisor heads to US for trade talks

WASHINGTON - The President's special adviser on investments, Alistair Ruiters, has departed for the United States.

He will lead high-level trade discussions following the defeat of steep US tariffs that threatened exports.

Ruiters is seeking to stabilise and expand market access with Washington after months of strained relations. 

He hopes to secure a more favourable deal for exporters and investors.

The trip underscores Pretoria’s push to reset economic ties and protect jobs in key sectors.
