Expectations of credit rating upgrade grow ahead of Medium-Term Budget

JOHANNESBURG - Investors are hoping that this week's Medium-Term budget will make the case for a credit rating upgrade.

S&P lifted its rating late last year, and Fitch followed suit in June.

Moody's said earlier that it could upgrade South Africa's rating if fiscal performance continues to improve.

Investec says South Africa could regain its investment-grade rating by 2028.
