Rea Vaya bus service halted by dispute

JOHANNESBURG - Johannesburg bus service Rea Vaya is not operating on Wednesday due to a labour dispute between PioTrans and its employees.

The exit to the depot has been blocked and no buses can operate.
Passengers are advised to use other transport.

Rea Vaya operator placed under business rescue

You'll remember that PioTrans, which operates the service in partnership with the City of Johannesburg, was placed in business rescue last week.

It faced various financial challenges in 2023, with one of its creditors threatening to seize 25 of its buses in October.
