Toyota recalls over 2,200 Urban Cruisers

JOHANNESBURG - If you drive a Toyota Urban Cruiser, it may be worth checking if your vehicle is on the recall list.

The National Consumer Commission has announced a safety recall affecting more than 2 200 Urban Cruiser vehicles.

Toyota says a manufacturing fault could cause the fuel gauge to display more fuel than is actually in the tank.

That means the low-fuel warning light may not come on, increasing the risk of the vehicle running out of fuel and stalling unexpectedly.

The affected vehicles were sold or distributed between 17 January and 3 June 2025.
