Transnet | SAAFF welcomes govt's R47bn support package

JOHANNESBURG - The South African Association of Freight Forwarders has welcomed the R47bn support package that Transnet has been guaranteed by Treasury.

Part of the funds are meant to support its recovery plans and to meet immediate debt obligations.

However, they say this money will be a test of critical importance for Transnet and the country.

They're pleased with the urgency shown by government, and say it sends a message of commitment on their intentions to stabilise and rebuild transport, logistics and broader supply chain sectors.
