JOHANNESBURG - The transport industry is worried about a possible diesel price hike of nearly R7 a litre.
The sector warns that any sharp increase could quickly push up the cost of goods.
Road Freight Association CEO Gavin Kelly said this is worrying.

"Eighty percent 80% of the goods in South Africa move by road when we move across the land. We really haven't got any other sort of alternative."
"There's a fair amount of rail that moves by diesel as well, and that's going to have a downstream impact on just about everything, including the economy, including the repo rate, and obviously touching your and my pocket in terms of the money we have to spend every day," he said.
