Public sector strike | Govt, unions urged to end stalemate

JOHANNESBURG - Business Unity South Africa (BUSA) says the public sector strike will dampen sentiment and leave the economy stagnant.

Various organisations have slammed public sector unions, saying they're acting irresponsibly.

But unions say they won't back down until government agrees to a 10 percent pay increase.

BUSA CEO Cas Coovadia says the allocated increase indicated in the national budget must be respected.
