CAPE TOWN - President Cyril Ramaphosa has unveiled a R264-billion infrastructure pipeline.
He was addressing delegates at the sixth Sustainable Infrastructure Development Symposium of South Africa in Cape Town on Tuesday.

Ramaphosa wants capable state-owned entities and implementing agencies that will drive the government’s objectives.
Bringing infrastructure projects to life quicker is a key issue discussed at this gathering. To help this, performance reports will be rolled out more frequently.
This development will be important as R264-billion in projects are lined up as part of the third edition of government’s Construction Book.

"This edition contains over 170 projects with an estimated value of R264 billion," he says.
"As South Africa, we have situated our infrastructure ambitions within the wider context of regional and continental integration," he says.
Public-private partnerships have once again been hailed as drivers of success. Infrastructure Investment South Africa was established to help bridge gaps in the built environment.
As the country battles with service delivery, officials have also highlighted the need to address ailing municipal infrastructure.
