JOHANNESBURG - Volkswagen (VW) is considering cutting up to 100,000 jobs worldwide, as it moves to reduce costs.
Chief executive Oliver Blume says the carmaker may need to cut another 50,000 positions to compete with rivals.

The company says its costs are about 20% higher than those of its competitors.
Volkswagen is also facing stiff tariff costs and competition in China while reviewing its German factories.
Labour representatives have rejected the restructuring plan.
