Wage turbulence hits FlySafair

JOHANNESBURG - FlySafair has rescheduled several flights for the coming week.

Pilots are expected to go on strike over a wage dispute.

This might result in selected flights from 22 to 28 July being moved.

The airline failed to reach an agreement with trade union Solidarity.

Solidarity says its members rejected a 5.7 percent wage increase along with other compensation proposals.

The union says the rejection of the offer was not only due to its content.

It also reflects growing tensions between pilots and airline management.

Pilots have raised concerns about leave policies and days off, saying the current system negatively affects their quality of life.
