ChatGPT: A valuable tool for students

JOHANNESBURG - ChatGPT, the Artificial Intelligence Bot, is taking the world by storm.

Available to anyone on the internet, it's been doing everything from writing poetry to news reports.

There are concerns it could mark the end of creativity and original work.

But, some say it could be leveraged to great advantage by teachers and students.

One of the primary benefits of ChatGPT for teachers is that it can help them save time with the ability to answer a wide range of questions on various topics.

"Teachers are familiarising themselves with it and I would encourage them to do that," said Rebecca Pretorius from Crimson Education.

"But I think from a point of view of working with students, on the one hand it may be also educating students about the risks involved in it. 

"But at the same time outside of that, integrated into their own learning, integrated into the classroom and also to help a teacher as well."
