Food security | Diepsloot women sow the seeds

DIEPSLOOT - As Diepsloot residents continue to grapple with high levels of crime and unemployment, young women in the community are tackling these concerns one seed at a time.

Supported by non-profit organisation Afrika Tikkun, Green Acres Farm teaches women the crucial skills needed to thrive in the agricultural sector while addressing food insecurity in the area.

The women say they've quickly learned to rely on their green hands when it comes to taking care of one's community.

But community members say a lot more needs to be done to solve the scourge of poverty in the area.
