JOHANNESBURG - Friday, 17 May is World Hypertension Day and hypertension often termed the silent killer, claims around 8 million lives annually.

It can often lead to severe health issues such as heart attacks, strokes, and kidney failure if left untreated.

Now when it comes to treating or identifying these afflictions, speech therapy may not be the first thing that comes to mind.

But there is a significant link between the work done by speech therapists and treatment.
