It's that time of year when the city of Durban reminds visitors that it's the place to be during the summer holidays.

The tourism sector has struggled in recent years, hit first by the COVID-19 and then devastating floods that wreaked havoc on infrastructure, particularly the sewage system that left beaches highly polluted.
But as this year's festive season approaches, Durban is determined to regain its reputation as the destination of choice for holidaymakers.
