
JOHANNESBURG - A memorial service for Jazz icon Gloria Bosman will be held at the Soweto Theatre on Friday afternoon.
The Soweto-born singer died at the age of 50 after a short illness.
She was known for her versatile voice and was celebrated for her ability to transcend different genres.
Her first album debuted in 1999 and earned her the coveted SAMA Best Newcomer award.
She went on to earn over 11 nominations as well as another SAMA for Best Female Composer.
Bosman shared the stage with musical greats like Hugh Masekela, Sibongile Khumalo and Sipho 'Hotstix' Mabuse.
