DURBAN - Musician Lusaso “Saso” Ngcobo has emotionally recounted businessman Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane’s final moments on Florida Road in Durban.
Motsoane was killed in February 2023 after allegedly being caught in the crossfire of a hit targeting rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes.

Ngcobo told the court that Forbes and Motsoane’s meeting at the now-closed Wish restaurant was coincidental.
He said he and Forbes were initially together at Bryd and Groom, a unisex hair salon, before heading to Wish for dinner. Motsoane, who saw the group at the restaurant, later joined them.
Ngcobo said he was standing less than a metre away from Forbes and Motsoane as they left the restaurant when he heard what sounded like firecrackers.
Like those around him, he took cover.

When he turned around after the shooting, he saw Motsoane lying on the ground, appearing as though he had tripped.
Ngcobo said he rushed to check on him, and Motsoane repeatedly told him: “I can’t breathe, I can’t breathe.”
As he looked around after the incident, Ngcobo said he then saw Forbes lying in a pool of blood.
