JOHANNESBURG - Zimbabwean businessman Lawrence Mudzinganyama has been granted R15,000 bail after being charged with allegedly threatening women at an upmarket Sandton restaurant last month.
In a video widely circulated on social media, Mudzinganyama is seen threatening to shoot and kill a group of women in a female bathroom. He also appears to boast that he was “too wealthy” to face consequences.
He is facing ten charges including fraud, intimidation and crimen injuria.

Following the incident, Mudzinganyama was arrested, while his company, Moriel Infrastructure Group, cut ties with him. Steyn City also cancelled his lease.
Three ministers have since ordered investigations into his dealings with the state. He has since apologised for his behaviour, calling it unacceptable and unjustifiable.
The case has been postponed to 15 October.
