JOHANNESBURG - The death toll from the tavern shooting in Carletonville, has risen to 18, following a deadly attack that also left at least 18 people injured on Saturday.
Police say only four of the deceased have so far been identified. They include two South African nationals and two nationals from Lesotho.
Gauteng Police Commissioner Tommy Mthombeni has established a multidisciplinary team to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

The team is probing 18 counts of murder, 18 counts of attempted murder, two counts of malicious damage to property and armed robbery.
No arrests have been made so far, with police continuing their manhunt for those responsible for the attack.
Operation Prosper has also been deployed to intensify operations in the area as investigators work to establish the circumstances surrounding the shooting and track down the suspects.
