JOHANNESBURG - The day for local government elections is near and once you are in the voting booth, you might be in for a bit of a surprise.
While some voters will receive two ballot papers, others will get three depending on where they live.
Here are some more things you need to know about voting day:
Voters living in urban areas, in the metropolitan areas in South Africa will get two ballots. One will be for your ward councillor and the other will be proportional ballot.
The ward ballot may be long as it will include independent candidates, so take your time. The proportional ballot is for who you would like to lead the council.
In the 205 municipalities that are not part of the country's eight metros, there will be a third ballot which will include the district. There they will be voting for the party to be running the district.
