JOHANNESBURG - Deputy President Paul Mashatile denies claims that he met, or intended to meet, Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala.
Sergeant Fannie Nkosi told the Madlanga Commission that Mashatile met with the alleged crime kingpin.

Mashatile said he does not know and has never known Matlala.
The deputy president was also reportedly out of the country at the time of the alleged meeting.
Mashatile said he was prepared to cooperate with the Madlanga Commission to clarify the matter.
