DURBAN - The uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party has called for privacy and respect for its leader, Jacob Zuma, amid concerns about his health following his recent hospitalisation.
Zuma was discharged from hospital after being admitted for what the party described as routine health checks.
MK Party secretary-general Sibonelo Nomvalo urged the public to respect the former president and allow him and his family privacy during this time.

“We know that President Zuma is the father of the nation. He’s a family man also, and I think we must respect that. So, I think at this time around, we must afford his family some privacy, and we must afford him some privacy. We all deserve privacy, so I think we must simply do that,” Nomvalo said.
The Jacob Zuma Foundation has also appealed to the public to respect the former president’s privacy.

In a statement posted on X, the foundation said it would not provide minute-by-minute updates on Zuma’s health.
Foundation spokesperson Mzwanele Manyi called on the public to respect Zuma’s privacy and dignity, adding that repeated enquiries were not appreciated.
“We see it as persecution and invasion of privacy,” Manyi wrote.
