JOHANNESBURG - Captain Phimi Sekgobela admits that his officers didn't search alleged hitman Musa Kekana's house in line with the Criminal Procedure Act.
Sekgobela is facing a grilling from the defence in the trial-within-a-trial to determine the admissibility of evidence obtained during Kekana's arrest.
The evidence is key in the attempted murder case against Kekana, alleged criminal kingpin Vusimuzi Cat Matlala and others.
The firearms found in Kekana’s property have been linked to the alleged botched assassinations of Dj Vettys, Joe Sibanyoni and Tebogo Thobejane.

Sekgobela and his team have been accused of viciously assaulting Kekana and flouting standard procedure in their warrantless search of Kekana's home.
Sekgobela will be back in the witness box on Monday.
The state will also be bringing a new witness, another police officer who was present at Kekana's arrest.
