JOHANNESBURG - A second witness is set to testify in the corruption and money laundering trial of former National Assembly Speaker Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula.
On Wednesday, UDM leader Bantu Holomisa appeared as the state's first witness.
He testified that in March 2021 he raised concerns over allegations that an SANDF contractor had made questionable payments amounting to R5 million to then Defence Minister Mapisa-Nqakula.
Holomisa says contractor Nombasa Ntsondwa-Ndhlovu complained to him, that she paid Mapisa-Nqakula after securing multi-million-rand defence tenders.
The former speaker faces 12 counts of corruption and one of money laundering.
