POLOKWANE – Six people arrested in connection with a R10-million insurance scam in Limpopo appeared in court on Wednesday.
The accused, who were arrested on Tuesday during a joint operation by the police, will face 47 charges, including nine counts of murder.
The matter was postponed to 25 March for further investigations and possible bail application. All six will remain in custody.
The latest arrests bring the number of suspects to ten, with several believed to be members of the same family. The case also involves former police officer Rachel Kutumela and three others.
Victims were allegedly insured and later murdered so payouts could be claimed.
The crimes reportedly spanned from 2000 to 2024, when the insured individuals died in various circumstances.
