TRC inquiry hears claims of interference from Silas Ramaite

JOHANNESBURG - External forces interfered in Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC)-related cases.

This is according to former Acting National Director of Public Prosecutions, Silas Ramaite.

Ramaite says that he viewed the conduct as improper.

During his testimony in February, he alleged that former Justice Minister, Brigitte Mabandla, instructed the NPA to halt prosecutions.

"I am not sure whether to say that will be interference, but in my view, I formed that it was," he said.

The hearings are set to resume on Tuesday.
