JOHANNESBURG - Ndodana Tshuma made a brief appearance at the Johannesburg Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.
The reason for his short appearance was that plea agreement negotiations between Tshuma and the state had not been finalised.
The 45-year-old is sought for the murder of his wife Zandile,42, and two children Natalie,15, and Nala, five, in July in the United Kingdom. He fled the country via Heathrow Airport.
He was arrested in Johannesburg and was found in possession of a firearm. He has pleaded guilty for contravening the Immigration Act and being in possession of an unlicensed firearm.

Foregoing a lengthy trial in South Africa, before he can be extradited to the UK, a plea agreement was reached so that he could face the law in England quicker.
Wednesday's proceedings suggested that the state and Tshuma still had to iron out some discrepancies in the plea agreement that needed to be rectified.
Tshuma is set to return to court on 21 October.
