JOHANNESBURG - Formal extradition proceedings against 45-year-old fugitive Ndodana Tshuma begin on Wednesday in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court.
Tshuma is wanted by British authorities in connection with the alleged killing of his wife and their two young daughters in the United Kingdom.
British authorities are seeking his extradition so that he can return to the UK to face trial.
In South Africa, Tshuma has admitted to crossing the border illegally and possessing an unlicensed firearm.
But his return to Britain has been delayed by a series of technical setbacks.
His lawyer has expressed growing frustration over the delays, as the extradition process gets underway in Johannesburg.
