Two alleged hitmen have been killed in a shootout with police in Mahlabathini, on the KwaZulu-Natal north coast.
MQANDULI - A 14-year-old fatally shot a 11-year-old using his father's homemade gun.
Police say the father admitted to leaving the loaded firearm in a drawer when he went into town.
The 11-year-old had already died when police arrived at the homestead. His body was found in one of the houses.

After the fact it is said that the 14-year-old teenager fled the scene. Police are still searching for him.
Police are not ruling out charges against the father.
This is not the first incident in the area. In October, an eight-year-old got hold of his father's gun and shot his seven-year-old cousin dead.
