Andrea Johnson, Feroz Khan arrested

JOHANNESBURG - Former Independent Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC) head Andrea Johnson and former Crime Intelligence boss Feroz Khan have been arrested.

eNCA understands the pair face charges relating to defeating the ends of justice. Their arrest warrants were authorised on Thursday. They were arrested by the Commissions Recommendation Task Team.

Khan was dismissed from the police service, while Johnson resigned as IDAC head in July following damaging testimony at the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry.

According to police, Khan’s dismissal followed his failure to appear before the designated senior officer overseeing his disciplinary process.

During proceedings at the Madlanga Commission, it emerged that Johnson and Khan shared a close personal relationship that extended beyond their professional roles.

They will be appearing in the Pretoria Magistrate's Court.

Police spokesperson Amanda van Wyk confirmed the arrests, saying SAPS was confident in the evidence gathered by the investigation team.

“The SAPS will continue to work closely with the NPA to ensure that the evidence collected is properly presented in court,” said Van Wyk.
