JOHANNESBURG - Pikitup has confirmed that waste collection is back to normal in all 12 Johannesburg regions after recent protests ended.
The protest disrupted collections in several parts of the city, with Randburg, Marlboro and Avalon among the worst affected.
Pikitup says it has implemented backlog recovery measures, including additional operational support and weekend collections, to restore services.
The entity says engagements are continuing with ad hoc service casuals, while operations will be monitored to address any remaining challenges.
Pikitup has apologised to residents and businesses for the disruption and thanked communities for their patience during the recovery period.
