PRETORIA - The case against alleged political fixer Brown Mogotsi has been postponed for full disclosure of the docket.
Mogotsi made a brief appearance in the Johannesburg Magistrate's Court on Monday. The matter was postponed to 20 August.
The court dismissed a request by the defense for names and addresses of some witnesses to be disclosed amid security concerns.
Mogotsi is being accused of threatening a state witness.
The state says his wife visited the witness after an address was given in court.
State Advocate Thami Mpekana said they want the witness list kept confidential in the interests of justice.
Mogotsi is accused of faking an assassination attempt on his life in Vosloorus in November 2025.
He faces a litany of schedule five offences, including perjury, defeating the ends of justice and unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition. He is also accused of discharging a firearm in public and attempting to bribe the investigating officer.
Ballistic reports indicate the firearm used is linked to other serious crimes, including murder. The firearm used in the shooting is yet to be found.
