Cachalia opens Interpol African Regional Conference

CAPE TOWN - Acting Police Minister Professor Firoz Cachalia opens the Interpol African Regional Conference in Cape Town this morning.

Over the next three days, the gathering will focus on strengthening cooperation in the fight against transnational organised crime.

Key agenda items include enhancing policing capabilities across Africa.

The conference comes at a time when South Africa’s porous borders continue to fuel rising crime including human trafficking and illegal mining.
