PRETORIA - North West businessman Suliman Carrim will testify in an open session before the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry on Friday.
The Commission confirmed this ruling on Thursday, rejecting Carrim's application for in-camera proceedings for the second time.
The first application was denied in March. This saw him testify in an open session.
The Commission's reasoning at the time was that Carrim's legal team had not filed its application on time.

Part of the conditions of the recent ruling includes that the commission and legal representatives of Carrim are prohibited from mentioning his medical condition.
This includes the nature of the treatment he is receiving, the identity and nature of the practice of the health professionals attending to Carrim in respect of the medical condition, and the medical facility where he is admitted.
Another condition is that the names of residential and business addresses belonging to Carrim's family may not be mentioned.

Carrim’s appearance before the Madlanga Commission is long overdue.
He missed his scheduled appearance before the Commission last month to continue his testimony following an earlier postponement linked to health concerns.
The Commission was informed that Carrim was medically unfit to testify, resulting in his appearance being rescheduled.
