JOHANNESBURG - Vusimuzi ‘Cat’ Matlala intends to apply for bail based on new facts.
His lawyers have also brough an application to have him transferred to Gauteng.
This was heard when the alleged underworld boss made an appearance before the High Court for a pre-trail hearing alongside his co-accused Musa Kekana, Tiego Mabusela, Zandile Nzama, and his wife, Tsakane Matlala.
Matlala faces 25 charges, 11 of which are for attempted murder, stemming from three separate shooting incidents between August 2022 and January 2024.

The State further alleges that, among other offences, the accused opened fire on Tebogo Thobejane, Matlala's former girlfriend.
Matlala were transferred to Kokstad due to security concerns.
Correctional Services National Commissioner Makgothi Thobakgale said the transfers were necessary to safeguard both inmates and prevent security risks.
The matter was postponed to the next Thursday.
