JOHANNESBURG - The City of Joburg says its work to root out corrupt JMPD officers has already begun.
Johannes Mokgatle has been removed from active duty.
He was present at the arrest of alleged Big 5 cartel member, Katiso 'KT' Molefe.

Mokgatle's accused of confronting investigators in a bid to disrupt the high-profile arrest.
Joburg Public Safety MMC Dr Mgcini Tshwaku says that more officials will be suspended, and all JMPD officers will now undergo a more thorough vetting process.
While more work needs to be done, the department insists it's committed to strengthening crime prevention, accountability and transparency.
