JOHANNESBURG - City Power is working around the clock to restore electricity after a fire broke out at the Central Substation.
This comes after the fire plunged parts of the CBD into darkness, including Marshalltown and Newtown.

City Power spokesperson, Isaac Mangena, said they had to wait for emergency services to attend to the fire under the tunnels before it can be cleared for safety.
Once this is done they team will then move to assess the damage, before repairs begin.
