PRETORIA - The High Court in Pretoria has heard that former Defence Minister Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula allegedly threatened to clear funds from a defence tender account if her demands for money continued to be ignored.
State witness Nombasa Ntsondwa-Ndhlovu detailed fresh allegations of bribery against her.
She accused the former Defence Minister of soliciting bribes worth R4.5-million from her between 2016 and 2019.
Ntsondwa-Ndhlovu said after repeatedly ignoring calls and messages from Mapisa-Nqakula, the request for 'wig' funds linked to a R104-million contract was cleared from the project's account as punishment.

Ntsondwa-Ndlovu says the word wig is code for money.
She claims the money had been transferred to an Air Force account on the instruction of a deputy chief financial officer, identified only as Nangamso, who she claims is the former minister's relative.
But the defence objected, arguing that the evidence is hearsay.
The court also heard Ntsondwa-Ndhlovu paid the former minister an additional R500 000 in two separate payments later that year.
The State has concluded its evidence-in-chief.
Cross-examination is set to begin on Tuesday.
