CAPE TOWN - A three-year-old girl is back home with her family after a near-tragic accident and a day in hospital.
She fell into a manhole in a Khayelitsha informal settlement while playing with friends.
The manhole, reportedly collapsed at least four times since last year, was simply covered with sand.

Now, outraged residents are demanding urgent action, warning that the hazard threatens their children’s lives.
City officials say they’re still gathering details of the incident.
An update on the issue is expected on Friday.
