JOHANNESBURG - Disaster management teams are on high alert after weekend storms caused disruptions in parts of the country.
Heavy downpours hit Gauteng, Limpopo and Mpumalanga.
The Weather Service had issued various alerts, including a Level 9 warning.
It was later downgraded to Level 6.
The storms triggered flooding and uprooted trees across Gauteng.
In Centurion, a rescue operation was carried out on a low-lying bridge.
Motorists are urged to be extra cautious as some roads remain flooded.
Dr Bongani Sithole from the National Disaster Management Centre has an update.
