JOHANNESBURG - A body of another woman discovered in Olifantsfontein has been added to the investigations into the deaths of women in Ekurhuleni.
The body of the woman was discovered on 14 September. This brings the total number of bodies discovered to eight in two months.
Acting National Police Commissioner Puleng Dimpane provided this clarity during a media briefing on Tuesday night.

Earlier in the day, authorities confirmed the discovery of a seventh body on 7 September, which has also been added to the investigations.
The body was discovered floating in a river in Clayville, near the Mall of Thembisa.
Other bodies discovered include:
- July 15 - The first victim, a 37-year-old woman, in Kempton Park. A suspect was arrested two days later.
- August - The second and third bodies were discovered, respectively, in Kempton Park
- September 10 - The fourth was discovered naked and in an advanced state of decomposition in Kempton Park.
- September 12 - The fifth victim, 38-year-old Elizabeth Moselakgomo, left her eight-year-old daughter at home to go for a jog and never returned. Her body was found behind a hotel, police said.
- September 14 - A woman’s body has been found on the side of the road in KwaThema, Springs, in Ekurhuleni.
Dimpane said some of the bodies remain unaccounted for.

She has called on residents in and around these areas to come forward if they know of anyone whose family member is missing
"The sooner we identify these victims, the quicker it will assist us to follow specific leads and to crack these particular cases," she said.
