JOHANNESBURG - Embattled Ekurhuleni city manager Kagiso Lerutla is set to return to work on Monday.
Lerutla took voluntary leave in April after his arrest. He is facing fraud and corruption case alongside suspended deputy Ekurhuleni Metro Police chief, Julius Mkhwanazi.
The pair, who are currently out on R30,000 bail appeared in the Boksburg Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.
The matter has been postponed to 9 June.
The prosecution alleges that Lerutla paid Mkhwanazi's driver R200,000 to impersonate him in court.
Mkhwanazi allegedly pocketed another R200,000 for the favour. In this 2019 case, Lerutla was supposed to answer to a traffic violation, but opted instead to attend a job interview.
