EKURHULENI - Thousands of taxi commuters will be able to resume travel in Ekurhuleni as the Santaco strike was halted on Friday.
Operators pulled their vehicles off the road on Thursday, accusing government of unfairly targeting the industry.
They said taxis are being impounded over permits not issued by authorities.

Taxi bosses and officials met in Pretoria to find a resolution to the taxi strike and found a way forward together through consultation.
The Ekurhuleni MEC of Roads and Transport Management, Lehlohonolo Gomo, said she has an open-door policy and will resolve grievances with the taxi operators without further disruption to commuters.
