Final election push: DA heads to Mamelodi as ActionSA targets Hillbrow

JOHANNESBURG - With just days to go before next Wednesday’s local government elections, the Democratic Alliance (DA) is expected to provide an update on its election readiness and latest projections as political parties intensify their campaigns.

The briefing comes a day before the party holds its final campaign rally in Mamelodi, Tshwane, as it makes a last push to win over voters ahead of election day.

Recent polls have placed the DA ahead of the African National Congress (ANC) in the capital, with projections indicating that the party could finish in first place.

The ANC is projected to take second position, followed by the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), ActionSA and the Freedom Front Plus.

DA leaders Solly Msimanga and Ashor Sarupen will lead the media briefing, scheduled to start at 1pm. They are expected to outline the party’s state of readiness and present its latest electoral outlook.

Meanwhile, ActionSA is also stepping up its campaign activities, taking its message to Hillbrow in Johannesburg, an area grappling with the ongoing crisis of hijacked buildings.

Party leader and Johannesburg mayoral candidate Herman Mashaba will lead the rally, joined by Tshwane mayoral candidate Nasiphi Moya and Ekurhuleni mayoral candidate Xolani Khumalo.

The ActionSA leaders are expected to sign delivery contracts, committing themselves to achieving tangible results if elected.
