KNYSNA - Former Knysna mayor Thando Matika, acting municipal manager Boy Manqoba Ngubo and acting chief financial officer Busisiwe Lubelwana are expected to appear in court on Monday.
They face corruption and kickback charges linked to a R68-million municipal security tender.
They are accused of soliciting kickbacks from the businessman who was awarded the security contract, in exchange for allowing the tender to continue.
The case comes as the Special Investigating Unit investigates the municipality and the circumstances surrounding the multimillion-rand tender.
Matika was recently removed from his position as Knysna mayor.
He has since been named as the SACP’s mayoral candidate.
